A 50-tonne tank and 4.2 km drinking water network for 3 hamlets in Savur, Mardin.
Three hamlets in the Savur district of Mardin depend on tanker water in summer. The campaign will connect an existing spring to a 50-tonne tank and a 4.2 km polyethylene network, giving 310 people a regular supply of drinking water.
The total budget is 480,000 TRY. Hamlet residents will contribute voluntary labour to dig the trenches, and this contribution has been deducted from the budget. The project has passed technical approval under a protocol with the provincial special administration.
Trench digging and pipe laying, with the contribution of hamlet residents, take about 10 weeks. When the network is complete, operating responsibility passes to the water committee and the village headman's office, and the foundation carries out an annual inspection for five years.
